One of the painting blogs I follow is Karin Jurick’s A Painting Today and she has been making some excellent small paintings, just 4” square of faces. Her elegant brush work convinced me it must be easy to paint in this format so I had a go.

Like a fool I casually said I’d have a go at a portrait of an internet friend, NotKeith. Then I realised what I’d done.

Anyway, I did a preliminary sketch from the photo he sent. There’s something wrong in my brain/eye wiring because he doesn’t really look like a peanut…

Possibly I should have called this one ‘A day’. It took ages, didn’t really go anywhere and eventually I just stopped.
